One of the most embarrassing parts of FIFA and soccer/futbol is the number of players that fake injuries. It’s really ridiculous and is a black eye of FIFA that they have yet to deal with. FIFA may be scared that creating rules against faking injuries will interfere with the pace of the game. To the contrary, faking dives and fouls is something FIFA can deal with AFTER a game is over. Here’s how my idea would work: After every game, FIFA reviews video footage of the game. If they determined a person faked an injury then that person is automatically suspended for several games. That, alone, would be a huge deterrent and bring some respect back to a game that has faking almost as bad as the WWF. Also, if a person is taken out on a stretcher, they shouldn’t be allowed back into the game.
Now that I’m off my soap box, I have to hand it to the creators of this next video. They do a great job at showing how a FIFA run organization would affect real life. Could you imagine if people faked injuries in other aspects of life? Well, you don’t have to because this video does!
